Emergency Relief After the Flood in Greece

Dear all,

We are concerned and deeply saddened. Following the devastating wildfires in Greece, the storm system Daniel has been raging for several days, currently moving across the Mediterranean and Greece and could even develop into a tropical cyclone known as "Medicane."

For several days, heavy rainfall has brought more than 750 liters of rain per square meter within 24 hours, accompanied by hurricane-force winds of up to 150 km/h to Greece. The region of Thessaly and the province of Pelion are particularly hard-hit. Rivers have turned into raging torrents, sweeping away cars and causing houses and bridges to collapse. Numerous cities and thousands of houses are underwater.

The death toll has now risen to ten. People are missing, and countless have become homeless in a very short time. Together with the "Civil Crisis Team" network and our partner organizations, we are providing rapid and needs-based assistance directly on-site. The situation is still unclear, but the first responders have already set out to provide quick and uncomplicated support. The greatest need at present is for water, food, tents, blankets, and emergency generators.

Help us alleviate the suffering of the people affected by the flooding with your donation.

Yours sincerely,

Markus

2. Donate goods

You can also support us with donations of equipment such as shovels, buckets, and brooms! Bring them to our collection point in the old post office in Reutlingen or directly to our office.

3. Financial donations

Your monetary donations are essential to enable further aid deliveries and to finance long-term reconstruction projects. Donate here.

Why your help is so important

The floods have not only destroyed buildings, but have completely disrupted people's lives. Thousands have been forced to leave their homes and are now facing utter devastation. The health risks are high: the danger of disease from stagnant water and poor hygiene is exacerbating the already precarious situation. Only with international support and rapid assistance can a further increase in the death toll be prevented.

With your help, we can stand in solidarity with those affected. Every donation, large or small, counts.

Thank you so much for being part of this mission!
